What is grief?

Grief is a natural response to loss. It can lead to emotions such as sadness, anger, disbelief, and numbness.

It is not limited to the death of a loved one. It can also be triggered by the end of a relationship, loss of a job, or significant life changes. It is a profoundly personal and individual experience, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve.

Grief is often described as a wave of emotions because you can be fine, and then it sweeps over you with the suddenness of a tsunami, leaving you feeling lost, alone, and unsure how to move forward.

It can affect every aspect of your life, including your physical health, mental well-being, and relationships with others.

It’s important to acknowledge your grief and allow yourself to feel and express your emotions in your own time and in your way. Compassionate counselling and grief support can help you navigate through the grieving process, providing a safe space for you to explore your feelings, memories, and fears surrounding the loss.
